Lawrence County Community Band – I joined the Lawrence County Community Band during the 2016 Holiday Season. The group consists of people of all ages and walks of life who enjoy getting together to play music. Members range from high school students to professional musicians. This group performs several concerts over the summer in venues ranging from Senior Centers to parks and festivals throughout Lawrence county as well as a concert at the Lawrence County Fair in mid August. In 2018, they will be a guest on the Mercer County Courthouse Bandstand on July 6 as the featured entertainment that evening.
The Shenango Valley Community Concert Band – I joined this group during the 2016 Holiday Season when they were still known by their former name The Buhl Band. (So named for the Buhl Park in which they play their concerts.) They perform 2 or 3 concerts during the summer as well as their annual Christmas Concert in December.
The Mercer County Community Band – I also joined this group during the holiday season in 2016. This band is a little different in that they rehearse once prior to the concert. At Christmas, it is the same day on the morning of, in the summer, it is the night before. This band performs in the Memorial Day parade and is the featured entertainment for many of the Friday Evening concerts on the Mercer County Courthouse Square Bandstand beginning in Mid-June and going for 8 weeks.
The Westminster College Trumpet Ensemble – I began sitting in with this group of musicians during the Spring 2017 semester. The group is directed by Dr. Tim Winfield, Professor of Trumpet at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA. He is also the one I have been taking private lessons from. As a student, I am currently a member of this group.
The Westminster College Symphony Orchestra – I joined the orchestra in the Fall semester 2017. The Orchestra performs twice per semester.
The Westminster College Symphonic Band – I joined this group at the end of the Fall 2017 semester after the Titan MArching Band season ended. The perform 2 concerts in the Spring semesters in Orr Auditorium.
Festival of Trumpets – Each year at their annual conference, the International Trumpet Guild has a variety of members play in the Festival of Trumpets. I performed as a member of the Non Pro/Comeback Player group in 2016 and will be performing again in 2017 in the same group. All festival participants also perform in a mass ensemble combining all the groups to end the event.
